Cookie Policy

Effective August 17, 2026 · Last reviewed August 17, 2026 · v1.0

Plain-language summary

Scintilla uses one strictly necessary sign-in cookie and local browser storage to recover an unfinished case brief. We do not use advertising, retargeting, or analytics cookies. Because no optional trackers load, there is currently no consent banner.

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Scintilla at findscintilla.com, operated by Social Intelligence Labs ("SIL," "we," "us," or "our"). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What these technologies are

A cookie is a small value a site asks your browser to store and return with later requests. Local storage is information kept in your browser that is not automatically sent with every request. Scintilla uses both only for the functions described below.

2. Storage Scintilla uses

NameType and purposeDuration
scintilla_sessionStrictly necessary authentication cookie. It keeps an approved user signed in and is configured HttpOnly, Secure in production, and SameSite=Lax.Up to 14 days
scintilla:brief-draft:v1Functional local storage. It saves the current wizard stage and unfinished case brief—including text you enter—so it can be recovered after a refresh.Until submitted, discarded, cleared by the application, or cleared in your browser
Hosting and securityVercel, our hosting provider, may set short-lived routing or security cookies when needed to deliver and protect the site.Provider-controlled and generally short-lived

3. What we do not use

  • No advertising or cross-site retargeting cookies.
  • No behavioural analytics cookies.
  • No session-replay, fingerprinting, or social-media tracking pixels.
  • No cookie or local-storage value is sold to advertisers.

4. Consent and Global Privacy Control

The authentication cookie is necessary to provide a signed-in service, and draft storage provides the recovery feature you request by entering a brief. We therefore do not show an optional-cookie banner. If we add non-essential analytics or advertising technology, we will update this policy and provide consent controls where required.

We honour legally required opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, where they apply. Scintilla currently performs no sale, sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, or targeted advertising for such a signal to disable.

5. Managing browser storage

You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking or deleting scintilla_session signs you out. Clearing local storage removes the recoverable draft on that browser. Avoid drafting on a shared device, and submit or discard sensitive drafts when finished.

6. Changes and contact

We will revise the effective date when this policy changes. Questions about cookies, privacy, security, support, or account access all go to contact@socialintelligencelabs.com.
